What hardware do I need for TABS EPOS?
TABS runs in any modern browser on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android or iOS. We supply and configure the till hardware: touch screens, scanners, receipt printers, cash drawers and card terminals, tailored to your setup and budget. We do not supply PCs or provide general IT support. See the hardware and peripherals page for the full list.
Can I connect barcode scanners?
Yes. Barcode scanners are fully supported and recommended. Each item can carry three barcodes, and scanning a receipt barcode recalls the original sale. Scanning products at the till eliminates manual lookups, reduces keying errors, and speeds up every transaction.
How does the EPOS sync with stock control?
Every sale made through the EPOS instantly updates your stock levels across all locations and sales channels. There is no delay and no manual re-keying required, because the till and the back office share one stock file.
Can I upload customer orders at the till using AI?
Yes. TABS EPOS includes an AI Order Upload feature that lets you upload customer orders in any format including PDFs, photos, spreadsheets and Word documents. The system reads the document, extracts product references and quantities, and matches them against your stock. Results are colour-coded for quick review before adding to the basket.
Do your tills integrate with card payment terminals?
Yes. Our EPOS integrates with DNA Payments and Windcave card terminals for chip and PIN and contactless payments. The sale total is sent from the till to the terminal automatically, so there is no risk of mis-keyed amounts and checkouts stay fast at busy times. If a terminal is unavailable the till can fail over to a standalone terminal, and interrupted payments are recovered.
Does the till handle age-restricted products?
Yes. Items flagged AGE16, AGE17, AGE18 or AGE21 trigger a mandatory challenge before they can be sold, with the prompt suppressed for repeat items in the same basket. This is directly relevant to knife and blade sales under the Offensive Weapons Act.
